William Malone

When we started this, we knew there would be players where the fiction outweighs the reality. That may very well be the case with William Malone.

He has three years in the historical record, two of which were useful. Those years spanned a decade, beginning when was 18 and ending when he was 28. He was, at best, a league average contributor, giving up more hits than most, but with excellent control.

A few factors have led to us giving Malone a full career. First, there is the general scarcity of early year pitchers; second, someone who pitches well at 18, at 22, and at 28 is likely to pitch well (barring injury, of course) at 20, 25, and 27 as well.
