Otto Briggs

Certainly a major leaguer, Briggs would probably spend his career alternating between a starting RF, a 4th OF, and AAA. Briggs was a good fielder (not a GG type, but certainly above average), and had a fair bit of speed.

He did not hit for power, and while he’d draw a walk once in a while, he wasn’t an on-base machine. His control of the strike zone increased as he aged, and he was always hard to strike out.

But for a decade Briggs provided offense withing spitting distance of league average, and contributed on the basepaths and with his glove. It’s a career. We have Briggs’ time at the major league level ending in his late 30’s, seeing his time in the 1930s really as an aberration that doesn’t happen in an integrated environment.

We’ve added a minor league season at the start and filled in a few missing years, but otherwise this is mostly a historical extrapolation.
