An interesting career in some ways, Tom Williams was usually able to post ERA’s that surpassed his raw numbers, largely because he kept the ball in the park and had good control, compensating for a tendency to give up a few too many walks.
He starts in 1916 as a 19 year old, then disappears after the 1924 season. There are hints from 1922 on that his efficiency is dropping, so we also ended his career at that point. In 1921 and 1923 he would appear on some usage leaderboards, but really a solid, if somewhat unremarkable, career. Sort of the working definition of a rotation starter.
